#Pinktober
We are facing the onset of Breast Cancer Awareness month or — #Pinktober . October – time for ‘awareness’ and everything in the town to be painted pink. In the UK it’s much different than in the US but who wants pink ravioli or a pink vibrator (I’ve seen both) it’s just madness.
More women are surviving breast cancer. But more are being diagnosed than ever before. Secondary or metastatic breast cancer kills 1,000 women each month in the UK. There is NO CURE for metastatic breast cancer and it is the only cancer that kills. In 2015, Breakthrough Breast Cancer merged with another UK charity, Breast Cancer Campaign, to form the UK’s largest breast cancer research charity – Breast Cancer Now.
Breast Cancer Now states, if we all act now, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live. That is the type of pro-active action we want and need, to save lives, not create for profit, using pink. Rather than buy pink junk in October, take your hard earned money and give to a breast cancer research charity like Breast Cancer Now, who are dedicated to making a difference:http://breastcancernow.org/our-fundraising-promise
